Dear Parent/Carer,
On Saturday 27 November, the Prime Minister announced new temporary measures following the emergence of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 in the UK.
In line with guidance from the Department for Education, from tomorrow Tuesday 30th November, all staff, visitors, and students in school should wear face coverings in communal areas (e.g. when on corridors during lesson changeover and in social spaces at break time) unless they are exempt.
Students are not required to wear face coverings during lesson time, however, they are free to do so should they wish.
In addition, students will be asked to wear face coverings on public and dedicated school transport, unless they are exempt.
We strongly encourage all students to continue to test twice weekly using lateral flow device (LFD) tests at home, to reduce the transition of the virus. Additional LFD tests can be ordered through the Government Website and will continue to be provided through the school. https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests
The new measures are being introduced as a precaution to slow down the spread of the variant. We will continue to review our risk assessment closely and update you on any changes we make or information released by the DfE.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Regards
Michael Kent
